All the kids look forward to parties at the HQ.
Cos Auntie Jaey always throw the best parties for the kids!
Everything was aplenty, both food and gifts!

After another round of setting up my lighting, I was ready to go macro shooting again..
This was done late after midnight at Lower Peirce Reservoir.
It's not everyday that one gets to spot a stick insect...
2 were spotted on the same night along the trail..
It was a lazy afternoon with the threat of dark clouds hovering over the entire Singapore..
I couldn't think of a better place to go for day macro except Venus Drive.

On Saturday, my daughter told me that there will be some Disney teen stars from USA visiting Singapore at Orchard Link on Sunday(28th July 2013) and mentioned that she'd like to go down and have a look if it was possible. From her look and her asking tone, I knew she wanted to be there very much, so I agreed to bringing her to the event.
After much research, we found out the event was at ScapePark and 2 of the teen cast of the movie "Teen Beach Movie" will be gracing the event.
So the next day, we set out to meet these 2 teen stars. We opted for the train instead of my car because of the traffic and parking at Orchard area on weekends will be difficult.

It was a long awaited holiday for the Neo family.
Though it was largely a shopping trip, we made time for some sightseeing for the kids.
Here are some of the places we were at during our stay in Bangkok.

This mischievous boy is borned on 13 June 2009 and this was his 4th birthday.
On his request, we had an "animal" themed party and held it at Toa Payoh the weekend prior to his actual birthday.

Isabel was invited for her classmate's(St Hilda's Primary School) birthday party on the 30th May 2013..
We'd only realised her friend had a fraternal twin brother when we reached the party's location.
Nonetheless, Janessa and Ethan's parents were great hosts and the food was splendid.
Many children were present and all of them had a great time.

Kenrockwell has a very good guide on how to use the Canon EOS 6D.
It is quite easy to read and understand for both amateur and professionals alike..

It's been some time since I last took any pictures as I was in the midst of clearing out my APS-C body and lens..
The 60D which has served me well during its short tenure was sold.
The 17-55mm took a longer time before a good buyer came along..
That 17-55mm EF-S USM f/2.8 with Image Stabilization lens will be the lens I will miss most.
Versatile and well-built with aperture of 2.8 and fantastically fast focus motor via its USM and image stabilization.
The new camera body that I own now is the full frame Canon 6D and the kit lens Canon 24-105mm f.4 IS. No doubt the lens produces sharp images in the focal range that overlapped my previous 17-55mm, the aperture is still less than desired at f4.
I guess I will have to deal with lesser bokeh with this lens.
The 6D has got some fancy function of using its inbuilt wifi to connect to smartphones in order to remote capture or view the images in the SD card. That is the main reason why I bought this particular full frame body.
Though there was a little snag of the original LP-E6 battery having a loose particle in it and rattled whenever it was shaken, Canon(Singapore) Customer Service Center replaced it with a new battery when I visited them less than 7 days after purchasing the camera.
The new battery is charging as this post is being composed.
Watch this space to compare my old and new pictures..
Crop sensor vs Full frame sensor.
Will it produce better pictures?
The audience will know...
